About
Vocal Reclamation was birthed in 2020 as a community container for re-wilding the voice from intergenerational trauma and colonial oppression. It became a series of love letters to all those who have cursed one’s personal artistry and expression. To those who have been silenced. And a place to release to re-inquire with the power of sacred rage, laughter, sexuality, and grief. This gathering will include the philosophy of seasonal folk traditions, experimental/traditional voice-work, and co-regulatory rituals. To activate our individual voice for influencing collective change. Magic meets the primal in this transformative container for remembrance.
Vocal Reclamation flickers toward the Southern Fire this quarter, where the child soul meets the adult matrix. A portal for passionate inquiry — what do I refuse to continue enabling? Which systems/programs no longer support the overall wellbeing of my neighborhood and beloveds? We will learn rituals for establishing/expressing centers of resonance through play and partnership.
This workshop is open to everyone with no musical or singing experience required.
