The Art of Book Binding with Marzomia

We’ve listened to your requests for another bookbinding workshop. Marzomia is back and ready to guide you through the art of Coptic stitch binding. This ancient Egyptian method uses an exposed chain stitch to join signatures (folded paper sections) without glue. The result is a beautifully crafted book that lies completely flat, making it perfect for sketchbooks, journals, and albums.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to prepare your signatures, mark and punch sewing holes, and stitch everything together using a single- or multi-needle technique.

Each participant will receive 30 pages of handmade recycled paper from Marzomia’s art studio, along with a complete bookbinding kit containing all the essential tools and supplies you need to continue binding your own books.
