Tending Reciprocity: A Spring Gardening Workshop

Note: This workshop will take place off-site in East LA around 15 minutes from the teahouse. Exact location will be shared before the event.

Honoring growth, playfulness, and possibility in this hands-on gardening workshop, we will come together for an early Spring day spent with our hands on soil + seeds. We will dive into gardening as a practice of peace, a tool of sowing actionable dreams, a lesson in impermanence, a work of Earth centered reciprocity and collective liberation.

In this workshop we will share the knowledge needed to start or deepen a gardening practice with hands-on practice of garden visioning, building your own healthy garden soil, seed sowing, seed meditation & rituals, Earth/Moon centered planting, regenerative practices, garden potions, the foundational tools of starting an herb & flower garden, and herbal infusions.

This is an opportunity to build a relationship with the land we live on and give back to it in a physical, beautiful way. A garden can be anywhere so this workshop is welcome to all whether you have a garden, want to start a garden, or don’t yet have the space for the garden but have the dream of tending to the land. All participants will leave with a pot of soil, sown seeds & seedlings.

Wear clothes you feel comfortable in and come ready to get down and dirty. Feel free to bring a water bottle, a notebook and pen, and a hat if desired.

Guided by Sasha Emoniee, an artist, herbalist, and Earth tender from California who creates experiences that encourage people to interact with the Earth through all of the senses. Sasha’s offerings center the value of being in reciprocity with the land wherever you are.
