About
As we approach Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year, we welcome a time of traveling underground to nurture the seeds that we want to sprout in the spring. Join us for an educational and meditative evening of learning about the incredible technology of seeds. We will explore various California native plants, learning how to harvest, process, store, and germinate their seeds. We will enjoy each plant in herbal tea form while engaging in hands-on processing of their seeds—witnessing both the potential and the manifestation at the same time. To continue deepening in relationship to California native plants, folks will go home with seeds to plant and tend.
The evening will be led by Nina Raj who is a naturalist and the founder of Altadena Seed Library, a growing network of seed exchange boxes. Through the distribution of free seeds, they are working to expand equitable access to shade and green spaces, increase food sovereignty, connect neighbors, and restore local ecosystems.
