Open Mic: Familiar Voices of Poetry, Prose, and Song

An ode to tea houses of the past, present and future, we are excited to present Familiar Voices: an evening dedicated (but not limited) to sharing poetry, prose and song. 

Historically, one of the functions of a tea house was to serve as a place where oral narratives were exchanged. Folk tales, legends, songs and myths – there was space for all forms of story. Shiloh will continue this tradition by inviting our community to share anything that needs to be released and received.

The universal voice is familiar. 

Familiar Voices is an opportunity for guests to share their stories with the community in an open format, open mic setting. We welcome all forms of stories onstage: poetry, prose, music and theater.

This space is held by many hands in our community. This month's will be guided by Sydney & Taylor!

Our doors open at 7pm and close at 7:30pm. Performers will begin promptly after doors close. Performers are chosen at random from our sign up. If you wish to perform, we recommend arriving before 7:30pm in order to sign up. The evening will end at 10pm. Please be aware that due to time constraints, signing up may not guarantee that you will perform.
