About
Honoring the Legacy of the Bee and Flame
Join us for a transformative candle-making workshop that honors wax not only as a material, but as a sacred symbol and ancestral magic.
Together, we’ll trace the lineage of beeswax—from sunlight captured in petals, to nectar gathered by bees, to honey transformed into the golden architecture of the hive. We’ll reflect on how this radiant substance, crafted by bees with precision and purpose, has long been revered by humans—for ritual, ceremony, prayer, protection, and spellwork.
This workshop is more than craft—it is a sound experience. A specially constructed observation hive with honey bees will be present so we can all listen to a live symphony of the buzzing of bees who will grace us with their primordial music and meditative healing frequencies.
You’ll learn to work with raw, natural beeswax as our ancestors once did, exploring its history, its mysticism, and its magical properties. As you sculpt your own candles, you’ll be guided to infuse them with intention—just as countless generations before us kindled flames to mark beginnings, call in blessings, and keep the darkness at bay.
Let this be a moment of reconnection to whisper to the bees and the sacred fire within your heart.

Artist Biography: Marvin has been tending and rescuing wild feral honey bee hives for over a decade and shelters them in several apiaries throughout North East Los Angeles. As a natural beekeeper he honors their sovereignty not just as pollinators, but as spiritual allies, teachers, and architects of the unseen.
Rooted in animism and deep reverence for the intelligence of the hive. His work centers on integrating apiculture into art, sensory sound based experiences, apiary hive tours and building community. His vision is not only to shelter bees, but to awaken humanity's memory of how to be in the right relationship with them.
