Ichiko Aoba at Tea at Shiloh (Winner 1)

Join us for an intimate performance by Ichiko Aoba at the Annex.

A uniquely talented  multi-instrumentalist that sits in a sweet spot between folk, indie, classical, jazz and even pop  genres, she attracts a broad and noticeably diverse audience. Her status as a world class artist has brought collaborations with artists such as Cornelius, Mac De Marco, Haruomi Hosono and the late Ryuchi Sakamoto.

Singing in her native Japanese, her music is a product of her vivid imagination and dreams, transcending language barriers and stirring intense emotions. Influenced heavily by the natural world and  in particular the ocean, her delicate, ethereal voice provides a calming blanket that transports the audience into another world. 

Ichiko is currently working on her follow up album to Windswept Adan due for release in 2024. She also begins her residency on NTS radio in September, which will bring listeners into her enchanting sonic world.
