Embodied Poetry: Contact Movement + Dance Workshop

Join us at the annex for an evening of poetry, movement, and music. This immersive experience is designed to nurture trust, liberation, and deep connection with yourself and others. Welcome to a special unique opportunity to be guided through ancient movement medicine with jungle inspired wisdom and integrative community practices.

Contact Dance Workshop
Experience the medicine of movement through partner dance in the Contact Dance Workshop. Engage in playful and liberating exercises, including the Human Machine, that emphasize connection and flow as a collective.

We will be tapping into elements of mirror exercises, weight balancing, consensual play and expansive movement discovery.

Be prepared to get sweaty, bend in new ways, build trust with your community and explore new ways of expressing your soul.  There are gentle lifts, trust fall techniques and oppourtunies to be brave in trying new things.

Contact dance is a practice in merging your trust with that of your fellow community from a playful and emotionally liberating way.

Be captivated by a soulful saxophone performance accompanying a mesmerizing dance by De’yanna and Estonia, & spoken word by (special guest) Ebonee Davis — Witness the sensual healing story of three sisters on a journey toward liberation, told through movement and music. 

Please dress in loose clothing that you feel comfortable moving in! Wearing layers is suggested so you can adjust as needed depending on how hot/cold you get from movement.
