About
Light can penetrate any amount of darkness, but no amount of darkness can penetrate light.
This literal and figurative illumination of bringing light into darkness by lighting candles or miniature fires is universal and timeless.
Join us in a beeswax taper candle dipping workshop where we take honeycombs from their original state and melt the pieces into a pot of water to refine it into a solid substance. We’ll go through a similar process as the ancients did thousands of years ago to make hand dipped taper candles from scratch.
Live honey bees inside a glass observation hive will be on display at the center of the table for everyone to observe and commune with. Take in the sounds of live honey bees, singing bowls, and the aromatic scents of burning wax, oak, copal, and peppercorn leaves while having tea & snacks at the annex.
Beeswax candles have been used for thousands of years in various cultures and traditions for their spiritual significance and ability to help create a sacred atmosphere. Beeswax candles are considered symbols of purity and light in many spiritual traditions, and their use can help honor ancestors or create an atmosphere for meditation and prayer.
